Quick specific reason question

How do you get this type of noise?

Do be as specific as possible, the deep farty synths in the last 1:00 of LCC.

Also, the farty noises going on in Theme of sudden roundabout.

Just would like to be able to play around with that sound but I cant really figure out what sort of waveform they are using/what is being tweaked to get that sound.

i don't have access to any autechre or i'd try to figure this out

Experiment and come up with something equally cool but nothing like it.

a good way to make farty noises is to have a waveform that is just a 1-sample click and control the pitch with multiple envelopes and lfos. maybe try making a click and putting it in the reason sampler?

i do stuff like this in bidule and just control a trigger clock (which outputs a 1-sample click), a nice advantage is it can also trigger other things with the same farty dynamics.

Probably with either a machinedrum or a monomachine :)

That's where I would start.

I think it has more to do with sequencing to get that kind of sound. It sounds like a raw waveform, blipping in at different pitches.

sawtooth wave is close but i think its more likely an impulse wave, which is usually just a single tick or click repeating over and over again with no descent downward like a sawtooth pattern

i made a patch and posted it on watmm years ago of a Reaktor instrument that does the reaktor fart click rhythms ill try to dig it up

yep! a sampler could work just the same

haunting soul, please do yourself a favor and look other places besides Reason to make these type of sounds.

Even fruityloops which imo is easier to use than Reason is 10x more powerful of a program and you could load what im about to post in Fruityloops as a VST plugin, you cannot do that in Reason
