what if.. it turns out they aren't ghostbusters, but they're actually werewolfs from the future.

Big fail at the box office, they should just cast pretty boys and some random twat bimbo for the female role.

I'd rather see Hollywood come up with some entirely new ideas that might be worthwhile.

it'd be like finding dinosaur shit in your back yard and you'd look it over marvel at its details but then when you're done you're like "ok that was some pretty cool shit, but in the end... it was just a hunk of dung"

They can make this just to feed the curiosities of what it would be like but it will most definitely be a complete fail and be just like any other disposable movie with flashy cgi and over bright blues, reds, and yellows.

Supposedly the plot is about the old Ghostbusters handing things off to a new generation... they tried this in the cartoon (remember the awful "Extreme Ghostbusters"?), and I reckon it will fail here as well.

Then again, Bill Murray refused to do this three times before he would agree to do it (based on rewrites of Ackroyd's script), so perhaps if Bill thinks it's worth doing, it will be good. it's not like Murray needs the money or anything.

bill murray in recent interviews .. (and since the split from his wife) .. has been making noises to the effect that he wants to start making a mark in his career again .. get off his weed tainted arse ... so perhaps .. he will grab at jobs that he might otherwise have waved away in the past ...

he might still dislike the script but thought fuckit and agreed to join in for funsies anyway

Pretty sure its just gonna be the original guys with boring minor performances plus the cast of SNL/Office in the new suits.

Yeah, the guy sitting down on the left - I guess a way to be more diverse, as they had a goth chick, a hispanic kid, and a cripple. Even Dan Ackroyd and Bill Murray's characters weren't really in it, just Egon and Ernie Hudson as 'mentors' to the new kids.

I really liked the original Ghostbusters cartoon; Lorenzo Music (voice of Garfield, countless other cartoons from the 80's) did the voice of Bill Murray's character, and he absolutely nailed it. It had some really cool ghost ideas on it like Sam Hain (the God of Halloween), etc.

And, the game coming out next month looks pretty good as well, with the script supposedly written by Ackroyd.

it seems like the franchise people care least about got the best reboot (star trek)

franchises that a lot of people care about (indiana jones, star wars, terminator) on average get their legacies raped with reboots and/or way past their prime sequels , i fear GB3 will be the same
