awepittance
chimera slot mom said: lol, synful maybe? holy shit .... Quote Synful Reconstructive Phrase Modeling Technology Synful Orchestra is not a sampler or a sample library. Synful Orchestra is not a physical modeling synthesizer. It is an entirely new concept in music synthesis. At the heart of Synful Orchestra is Synful’s Reconstructive Phrase Modeling (RPM) technology. This is the result of many years of research, several patents, and a lifetime of experimentation, design, and frustration with older synthesis technologies. RPM Phrase Database: Morphing and Splicing RPM technology uses a database of recorded phrases of orchestral instruments. These are not recordings of isolated notes but complete musical passages that represent all kinds of articulation and phrasing. When Synful Orchestra receives MIDI input it looks at the pitch, velocity, amount of separation or overlap between notes, note duration, volume, pitch, and modulation controls to determine what kind of phrase is being played. Synful Orchestra uses a set of advanced algorithms to search the RPM Phrase Database in real-time for fragments that can be spliced together to form this phrase. These fragments represent transitions between notes, slurs with portamento, lightly tongued transitions, aggressive fast bowing, rapid runs, long sustain regions with graceful vibrato, and noise elements like flute chiffs and bow scratches. Synful Orchestra morphs these fragments by stretching and shifting in time and pitch so that they combine to form the final output. nice find! is that what you used to do those string pieces? if so damn it sounds pretty nice and imagine you don't have to install 10 DVDs to get it sounding this good Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/45923-strings/#findComment-1051280 Share on other sites

mcbpete
I've downloaded the trial of synful and it clicks like a whore (do whores click ?). I know it's not buffer size an all that as I've used so many different VSTi machines in live work (and my CPU is only like 10% when using it), and I've tried moving the latency up too and still the clicks. It's not synful. I'm making music on a shitty eee PC, trust me, I know when a VST is CPU intensive because I won't be able to run it. I can run about 4 instances of synful without any degradation. Quote nice find! is that what you used to do those string pieces? if so damn it sounds pretty nice and imagine you don't have to install 10 DVDs to get it sounding this good Yeah. Though they weren't that realistic, because the secret to getting it realistic is constantly altering the expression and volume, which i've just learnt to do, and it's so effective. The coolest thing so far is that you can create a virtual string section, with 4 players for instance, and they will all share the notes you play. so if you play one note they play it in unison, if you play a chord each will play one note, and you can separate the players by stereo space and reverb in the vst itself.
