Guest naos
I created few loops in reason, but I don't feel that I could manipulate them to make a song using the same software. Basically, I like reason synths and effects, but I would like to try to arrange loops using different software.. What would be the best thing to do, now that I have those loops, but don't want to arrange using reason? Berk
save them as wavs and use them in ACID / Ableton / etc? Braintree
In my opinion, Acid gives you much more control of cutting up the samples themselves. It's a bit more hands on. Siegecow
You can control reason as a rewire device in ableton, always seemed a bit backwards to me though. I'd just go with exporting wavs or making do with reasons editing. Guest Aces
For me audition is the perfect editing program especially in mulitrack. I know thousands would disagree. So best combo would be daw + audition or messing with wavs in acid.. It might not be the best for you depending on how your workflow is but give it a try. I think it's all about mixing and matching and finding the right things that work for you. Siegecow
how did you do most of your slicing in albeton? I'm finding theres a lot of different ways to go about it... session view, sampler, simpler, clips, drum rack etc Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Siegecow's signature Hide all signatures On 3/16/2011 at 8:14 PM, troon said: fuck off! Guest Aces
Well I would say the obvious place to start would be in the warping view. Many possibilities there I would say. Ok, stretching sounds great always, pitch shifting.. but then what? I'm still very traditional about using ableton.. :embrassed: Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46060-in-the-beginning-there-was-a-loop/#findComment-1055370 Share on other sites

I've found the beat mapper to be really good for destroying stuff but I think the boundaries of Acid pushed me a little more. Don't know why but I seem to enjoy making things difficult for myself. I'm teaching myself how to use ReNoise at the minute. Made some funny Ikeda styled dark ambient by using a raw sine wave across six different channels. Needs some work but I'm liking it. Guest Tamas
LiveSlice + Ableton Live is a good mix. Once you figure out how to control the different loops in LiveSlice with Ableton (very easy, each loop, which is made of slices, can be triggered with a MIDI note from Ableton). The interface in LiveSlice is slightly unintuitive at first but once you figure it out it becomes pretty fun.
