Cake

So i've gotten all gayed up and i've been jamming so much cake lately that god is sick of it. but holy damn if this band isn't well set up. great song writing and excellent musicianship. i've got a huge soft spot for this band, but they deserve it. i love going from Frank Sinatra to Opeths' The Leper Affinity. It makes me feel like a bad ass, cause i am, no fake.

point is, Cake has it down pat.

i grew to hate cake after a friend of mine played 'nugget' on repeat while i was trying to sleep when i stayed over his house once in highschool. just because it had the word fuck in the chorus.

i hardly slept that night, i must have endured that song about 70 times.

Cake was the first compact disc i bought :) My brother and I enjoy to randomly come into song drunk to the tune of cake.

nugget annoys me cause of it's blatant use of fuck, but try their b sides and listen to Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town. fucking awesome.

I'm partial to 'Comfort Eagle' myself.

man, I used to listen the crap outta some cake in high school. I haven't listened to anything of theirs in ages, though. it would be a strange nostalgia trip, I'm sure.

my drama teacher in middle school used to play you part the waters every day to start class

i don't like the band cake at all but i really love that video of theirs where it's a concept of finding random people on the street and playing their new single through headphones to them to get their opinion.

fashion nugget is a quality album. i never tire of "stickshifts and safety belts".

They were good listenin in middle/early high school but now im just really really sick of them, but they still have a handful of songs i can still enjoy, namely jolene and some songs on comfort eagle. The music's aged well but ive just grown out of it.

I like a few of their singles but never have enjoyed much of their music.
