Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
doesn't seem to be much info around about playing live (not ableton) into/through buzz. i have my guitar plugged into my soundcard and i hear it through the pc. i've loaded the machine called 'WaveIn' but can't see how to get it working anyone know or know of a tutorial? modey
i remember it being pretty difficult to get going, at least with my old sblive and kX drivers, have a look here though: http://buzzmachines.com/reviews.php?type=tutorial Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide modey's signature Hide all signatures youtube | bandcamp | soundcloud | twitter | facebook 0F.digital Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46206-buzz-input/#findComment-1055973 Share on other sites

Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
hhhm posting this for me to look at tomorrow http://buzzmachines.com/viewreview.php?id=53 people in the comments have the same prob as me. i have no attributes BUT i got 2 channels available this could be useful... Quote please note that in djlaser's indext.txt, the jeskola wavein is associated with the wrong machine :( when you load jeskola wave in device and it has a "set channel" on its pop-up-menu, then its the WRONG one (the one that never worked on my system, I guess its for ASIO or so)! Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
now i hear it through it the wavein (volume very low to avoid the distortion) BUT i ALSO hear it via the soundcard too. so i hear my effects but i also hear it uneffected too. i can't mute the input as i need it but i don't want to hear it twice. maybe i'll just get some pedals, i want to get away from the pc anyway Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46206-buzz-input/#findComment-1056099 Share on other sites

mcbpete
Use polac asio in (that is, if you have asio drivers for your card !), by far the best input machine for buzz. if you're hearing the dry input of your guitar make sure you've muted the 'line in' or 'mic' playback in the Windows volume level control thingy in the system tray. Guest Benedict Cumberbatch
i must be doing something wrong because if i mute the line-in i hear nothing. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46206-buzz-input/#findComment-1056474 Share on other sites
mcbpete
ASIO is a driver type (other types on buzz (and music software in general) include DirectX Sound driver and Windows Waveform Audio) that has very low latency (practically inperceivable) meaning basically realtime effect processing for a live input. If you go to preferences click on Polac ASIO (the other ASIO type is buggy). What soundcard have you got BTW, if it's something like an onboard one you're gonna have to download ASIO4ALL to make your card support ASIO input/output Then when you've selected that you use the generator machine called 'Polac ASIO IN', and if you right click it you can select what channel for it to use. If you have neither Polac ASIO listed on the preferences dropdown or the ASIO IN generator you can download them here - http://www.xlutop.com/buzz/pvstdocs/main.html (oh and make sure you've muted Line-In on your Playback 'page' of Windows and not the recording 'page' !) Bubba69
Yeah, if your soundcard doesn't support ASIO in its drivers, you need to use asio4all, which will put up a fake ASIO frontend for buzz to use. I'm pretty sure I used to use the polac asio machine back when I was hardcore about buzz. Bubba69
I always thought it was interesting how you could customize you machine menus in buzz. I was never happy with mine though. There was one that was pretty good that I downloaded. mcbpete
If you haven't got the ASIO IN machines you can download them here - http://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/polac_asio_v1.2.zip They're usually under New->generators->something or other but actually on my Index.txt they're under New->I/O devices (i use a particulary strange index.txt !!) so it really depends what index you're using. Although on the new builds of Buzz you have the benefit of just typing on a blank area in 'machine view' a few letters of that machine and a list will pop up matching machines with those few letters (when I use it I just type: ASI and it's all right there ) The full name of the machine is - Polac ASIO Stereo In (or course if you're using a mono input use Polac ASIO Mono In) Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide all signatures I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.
