IGNORED

evidently they just repressed the old hell interface trapped songs...

so i'm spending too much on rap records today and in the electronica section under B i see a boards of canada 12", intrigued, i look at it, figuring it's perhaps dayvan cowboy which would be a nice addition to my vinyl based arsenal, but instead of that a closer inspection revealed it to be a "dj vinyl promo" and under the boards of canada logo it says "unreleased tracks"

the track listing is as follows:

A side

1 - midas touch (remix)

2 - korona

B side

1 - trapped (hell interface remix)

2 - trapped (short slow version)

so i'm sure someone else on teh board has this... i havent had a chance to get it home to the record player yet, so what's the word on it!?@ is it a shrewd re-release!@? is the short slow version the one off of the few old tunes / mixtapes where it's the "other"/older version of their hell interface remix of colonel abrams' trapped, the one with more standard fare hiphop-type beats as opposed to the full up IDM-style treatment the proper hell interface remix on that mask compilation got.

but yeah yeah someone tell me something about this odd $10 record i came across, now my third boc record, after hi scores and the dead dogs two 12"

This has been out for more than 6 months.

It's a nice ep.

Have no idea who it's licensed by, doesn't seem to be a bootleg though, sound quality is alright but there's no info on the vinyl or the cover.

Korona is like a BOC offbeat techno track.

Trapped versions are the ones they were already known and Midas Touch is a great remix of an 80's r&b track.

Korona and Midas Touch are both great in their own way.

welp this is why i asked... "just released" is something i said cuz i made some of my usual rounds on record hunting and happened across this!tne after i had not been to the record shop in a couple'a months... i look forward to having this one, tho its not quite the all eyez on me 2xLP that i had to drop thirty on =/

This has been brought up before, and is quite easily available... For now.

Not entirely legal methinks but i'd recommend picking one up cos i'd imagine the value may shoot up if the new BoC material takes a more commercial route (or they split up).

Tenner for a bootleg ain't bad and most fans wouldn't have hard copies of these songs.

Not legal at all, and was made from MP3s, not even directly from the original vinyl versions, let alone the masters.

That's impressive. But is there any need for 2 x Campfire Headphase on vinyl. Having said that, i'm stupid enough to have 4 copies of Hi Scores on 12" and 2 on CD.

What, praytell, are the 12" on the 3rd row down, with the brown sleeve and purple sleeve.

I just need the Aquarius 7" and my collection will then be complete.

the double up on the headphase was cuz the one they send me was all shredded. the sleeve was fucked. i wrote warp and they sent me another + cd and a shitload of stickies, before they even responded. i was prepared to ship the first one i got back to them. thought that was nice of em.

also got the double up of roygbiv/telephasic 10" cuz the first one i bought, the guy never sent it to me. so i bid on another. then a year later i got the initial one i bought with an apology.

most stoked on the in a beautiful place white label. its on MUCH better quality vinyl than the actual release. thats the one in the purple sleeve.

the brown sleeve is the surfaise [boc tradewinds remix] fakesch's Demon 1.

you have mask 100 and 200!?!?!

last i saw 100, the going price was 300£...a little unreasonable i think

Haha, when i say complete, i mean within reason. There's silly money and there's silly money.

I remember missing Aquarius for £35 and now it's the best part of £100. I guess that's the price you pay for becoming more popular/successful.

I've been on and off with BoC since MHTRTC (marriage/kids/divorce) and only picked up the vinyl version of TCH about a year ago. It was widely available on a basic google shopping search and i paid £12.50 for it. Now you'd struggle to find one for less than £50!!!

I've put some money aside for possible new releases and will be like a kid in a sweet shop. What i wont spend though is £20 on a t-shirt reprint.

How do you know they were made from mp3s?
