soundwave
Ok I've been drafted to show my rusty mixing on the graveyard shift (3am onwards) at some big party this summer so I'm thinking of some alternative breaks/IDM type stuff as something a little different to the usual drum n bass, dubstep, electro type stuff that will be played earlier on that evening. So I have to have an RDJ track in there somewhere but I'm finding most of his tracks although excellent aren't the kind of thing your avarage bod would start dancing too. What do you think are the most dancable AFX tracks or perhaps ones you've gone nuts too at a party? I'm thinking perhaps Donkey Rubarb, Didgeridoo or Mont Saint Michel???? :on2long: Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46372-most-danceable-aphexafx-toonz/ Share on other sites

shaun
i go absolutely nuts to Omgyjya-Switch7, i consider myself to be an alright dancer but fuck me, that track takes the cake for sheer intensity. Acrid Avid Jam Shred has always been a track i love to dance to. the drums at the start are so chill n easy to move to. i love the slow synth build up and how the melody slowly builds up and then just takes off. i feel my body automatically moving to every bit of detail to that track. A dj played this track while i was chilling out on a Thursday night at grungy kinda laid back bar on Brunswick st in Melbourne. i could.'t believe it. i ended up getting on the floor instantly and just started to let RDJ take over my body. i felt like the only person there, and after that i went and got myself a Budvar at the bar and somehow there's this dark haired Norwegian girl staring at me... one of my favourite times : ) just like to point out that i reckon i could dance to Phonatacid, Where's Your girlfriend, Pitcard, Fenix Funk 5 and a shitload of other Analord tracks... defiantly Lisbon acid!! Death fuck and 54 cmyu beats are the tracks that i've also experimented with.... probably looked like the biggest dick! luckily for me it was in the privacy of my own home : ) Okay i know i'm rambling on but i just wanna know if any of you on this forum ever go to clubs where they've heard RDJ tracks??? Autechre? BoC? anyway i think i might start a new thread if i don't get any feedback, and also don't want to hijack this thread, but yeah was just wondering. Melbourne has a pretty shit music scene, or maybe i'm just ignorant. hardcode
when i used to go to clubs if i ever heard aphex spun or whatever it always sounded completely out of place in contrast to the utter and complete shit everyone else was spinning, I would usually look over and think, "who the fuck is this tool tryingto spin aphex, what a retard" Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide hardcode's signature Hide all signatures www.soundcloud.com/hardcode Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46372-most-danceable-aphexafx-toonz/#findComment-1060881 Share on other sites

Guest theSun
you're right, they are not cool enough to play good music in a public setting. you need a cool factor of at least 8.4 to do that and sounds like these idiots were hanging out in the 4.6-5.3 range. Melbourne has a pretty shit music scene, or maybe i'm just ignorant. Rob Hall always thows in an AFX track here or there whenever I've seen him and some drum n bass/breakcore DJ's I know can often throw in a Drukqs or VS track. It's a fine line not to get too chin scratchy especially with a mixed audience but these folk will be cool open minded hip music types so no 4/4 gurnwatch or dark heavy shit either which is my dilema. Best to tickle the trout than clear the dancefloor although methinks the minds a 3am crowd won't be so critical. Im just looking for any more good suggestions. Redlof's a good idea. :shade: Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46372-most-danceable-aphexafx-toonz/#findComment-1061025 Share on other sites
