Guest masterdome
Korg Ms20, some wicked gear from Eventide as well.... DSP boxes! Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/4644-the-gear/#findComment-95176 Share on other sites
rude_NHS
yeah, the wickipedia said he used an eventide orville for around the time of go plastic. i genuinely didnt know he used an korg ms20. very interesting. as for reaktor, i'm guessing he uses it for the kind of time streching and granular synth stuff he does to his songs live, like on the alive in japan cd. Key
someone posted a video on here last year (perhaps) of an interview in his studio during 1996-97ish, but I dont remember that much of what he had, I remember he called his SH-101 a 'standard rave mainstay' keyboard. Hes also got/had a Boss DR-660 according to wiki. I think he probably gets pissed off at fanboys like ourselves deconstructing his equipment. rude_NHS
true, but at then end of the day, i'm sure deep down we'd all love it if we were famous and there was people on t'web talking about what gear we use, i know i would, and i'd probably be there correcting them when they were wrong, but yeah, its a geeky topic of chat. still, in the cover of feed me weird... there mos def an sh101 there. i wonder if he still uses all this stuff. one of the things that i alway liked was how he kept getting everything out of his gear rather than moving with the times and constantly upgrading to newer euipment, but that all changed when go plastci came out and i read that he was going more digital and doing more dsp stuff. fair do's. Guest masterdome
I read a small but concise article/interview with Tom in Bass Player magazine where he spoke of the Eventide gear and how it specifically helped him create very deliberate timing effects, from stretching to compressing, pitch variations, filtering, exact reverbs, gate effects, amongst other things, all mapable/controlable thru midi... i.e. even his bass could control it!
