I'm assuming this is a slot-loading CD player, right?

yeah but it has these two plastic bits stopping the cd from coming out once it's in, so that's useless =(

Sounds like the eject mechanism/motor has died on you.

If it's under warranty, take it back - if the CD player has already gone tits up, what other problems does it have?

It's the eject mechanism that's broken, theres no way it's fitted with a "swallow the CD if it's pirated" mechanism, that would be monumentally fucking stupid. It's Fiat and they are notorious for this kind of shitty built interior design mechanisms, you ever see a factory Ferrari with a head unit? Thought not, thats because Italy cannot build a car interior (except seats).

Take it back and kick them in the fucking bollocks, fuck I hate Fiat.

Good job their engines are up to scratch these days.

Fuck Fiat, seriously.

took out the cd player and unplugged the power from it for about a min, plugged back in turned on car...woooo cd player reset and ejected cd and works fine now....apparently you can try disconnecting the car battery termnial if its too hard to take out the cd player but whatev.

my CD player did this with certain burnt CDs... I'd have to pry the CD out

I could really promote my car club here, but I'm not going to.
