Guest joshier
Leftfield's Dusted has Roots Manuva's lyrics over it. Though I don't know where I'd get it. I found some acapellas on soulseek but a lot of rap acapellas are shit ones that don't sound good to synchronised beats. If I can't get Dusted one, then I'll have to just substitute it, which brings me to - anyone know any good rap artists, similar to the dusted one where his lyrics are syncronised and actually sound decent.. Not the shit slur that is jay z. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46538-where-do-commercial-artists-get-acapellas/ Share on other sites
Mr.Sensi
Look on Discogs for the 12" singles. That's where you'll get the acapellas. Commercial artists will generally contact the label of the artist they want to use the samples from and they would be sent the original accapella recordings once the deal has been struck. sometimes artists release accapellas on the flip side of a single, often the singles are limited run and as such they are hard to come by. It takes someone who has an original recording the track convert it to digital (as hip hop singles will often have a bias towards vinyl) then upload it somewhere. Jay z apparently wasn't happy with the version of the black album the label wanted to release (or something like that) so he released the tracks as accapellas with the intent of people using them in remixes, thats why there are a fair few of his accapellas about but yeah theres plenty of artists I would rather have the accapella for. Guest JohnTqs
if you're not a commercial artist like me you can do this Oscar said: Look on Discogs for the 12" singles. Guest analogue wings
there are some humungous acapella torrents out there, if you dont mind doing your own quality control also, a lot of acapellas have so much leakage of the original backing track coming out of the vocalist's headphones, they are pretty much useless for remixes. must be some deaf-ass rappers out there. Siegecow
You can also attempt to make your own acapella if you have an instrumental track that is exactly the same as your vocal version (they need to be identical in quality). Line them up EXACTLY (down to individual peaks/valleys of the waveforms) and invert the instrumental. If you did it right you should get a relatively usable acapella, sometimes you can get something that will work with a bit of EQing Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide Siegecow's signature Hide all signatures On 3/16/2011 at 8:14 PM, troon said: fuck off!
