recommended if you like the orb?

i am looking for artists similar to early orb, particularly orbvs terrarvm... allmusic recommends the following:

ultramarine

the klf

the sabres of paradise

banco de gaia

irresistible force

biosphere

spacetime continuum

global communication

all artists that i have not really given a fair shake; could you help me figure out which one's most like the orb?

also recommend other artists but i do prefer artists with an extensive discography for me to sink my teeth into

peter namlook - alien community,

early Tetsu Inoue especially his collaboration albums with Jonah Sharp (spacetime continuim)

pete namlook and Klaus Schulze - dark side of the moog series

although i have to say adding Sabres of PAradise to this list seems very inappropriate :undecided:

why do you need something that sounds exactly like the orb? just check out that list and see if you like any of it irrespective of it it sounds 'closest to the orb' or not

i guess 'cause i'm a big baby when it comes to branching out musically, and something orblike would be safe

btw were your suggestions intended to be supplementary to my list, or did you want me to disregard the list?

check out XXX's response and you you will see overlap, so yes it was genuine. i personally prefer everything i listed more than the Orb, Fax records was always kind of like 'my orb' i just never could get into them

Check out some of Thomas Fehlmann's solo work.

One of my favourite tracks of his is Du Fehlst Mir of Streets of Blah ep on Kompakt.

True, but they're both awesome, and stylistically they're in the same area code at least... so if you like one there's a good chance you'll like the other, no?

the ambient klf albums should be obvious picks seeing that they've been made by -at least- half the early orb crew.

reload's "collection of short stories" comes to mind.

also, asymmetrical head's DSC track sounds like it was inspired by oxbow lakes
