Khat

on the way back from a lovely game of scrabble at the pub last night i decided to buy some exotic drugs. we were walking past this somalian hangout/ cafe (basically a completely bare room - just a counter and some chairs filled with guys watching al jazeera) and i saw a guy outside chewing away so asked if he knew where i could get some khat. seemed a little surprised at first, but once established that these random kaffirs were indeed asking for their drugs he went and got us two big bundles at £3 each.

so er yeah. it tastes like death and you have to chew quite a bit to notice anything but eventually you do get a subtle amphetamine-like buzz. other than that, the only redeeming factor is that the pulp left-over in your mouth looks EXACTLY like wasabi.

anyone else tried it?

curious to try, but my heart has been in bad shape lately, erratic. so i'll have to sit this one out

Undoubtedly one of the coolest legal drugs in the world.

If you take it with pills you can use it as a gurning implement.

Kind of ruins the point.

not an offence to possess a "personal use" quantity but it is an offence to seek it

yeah - got some off a somalian in peterborough once - pretty similar experience - tasted horrible and didn't do that much.... bit shit really.

i just made a really strong cup of tea using it and not only did it taste nice, it hit me pretty strong. decent!

nice - we just chewed it... i guess we should've made tea.

You have to put effort in with teh khat.

what is tulsi that indians chew? is it tabacco? they get high on that shit
