Guest meneedit
Have any of you had experience with putting a guitar through guitar rig? I tried to use mine with it a few weeks and as soon as I clicked on ok after setting up the sound input/output a distorted sound faded in and got louder and louder until i reached for the volume on the speakers. Anybody know why it might do this? I had a look on the forums and couldn't see anything and i also had a look on the 'Creative' forums as i have an "Audigy 2 ZS" but couldnt even find a topic on it there. could somebody please help me with this issue? mcbpete
Sounds like you've got a feedback loop somewhere in the input/output setup. Make sure the dry line-in and/or mic playback is muted in the Volume Contol panel thing. Guest onehandbandit
yes, a feedback loop. mine does this on my laptop sometimes because the inbuilt mic input is live as default. Guest hahathhat
be like sir clapton and roll with that feedback son (e.g. it might be feedback between guitar and speakers if it's suitably loud) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46665-using-guitar-rig-live/#findComment-1069260 Share on other sites

Guest Robotussin
slightly unrelated, but i've been pretty disappointed with guitar rig. i love a lot of the clean tones from it, but the distortion gets SO thin that i wouldn't want to use it live. i've honestly gotten better tones from the Guitar Amp in logic. Bubba69
Have you guys considered that maybe the feedback loop is going through his guitar, which, for all intensive purposes, needs to not be muted?(as hathahat mentions) Play around with guitar and speaker position and don't let it get too loud. Guest Robotussin
i get a lot of weird feedback/noise from guitar rig, too. it does get better when you move away from the speaker, but it never seems to totally go away. Guest meneedit
sorry guys i forgot to reply i got it working in guitar rig 3 and have been playing it for the last few days. having lots of fun. although i have downloaded extra presets (GR 1, 2 and 3) because all the distortion in 3 sounds very similar. I know that I wont be able to get all sounds out of my guitar but i know that guitar rig has more potential than what's displayed in 3.
