Capsaicin
Listening to this cd for the first time. Haven't even gotten through the first track and I already really enjoy it. What do you guys think about Gescom? And I also saw a copy of minidisc for about 8-9 bucks in the same record store I got A1-D1, so do you think that's a good deal? BobDobalina
I love the early/mid gescom stuff, sounds of machines, all the key nells, viral rival, etc. Been really digging ISS:SA a lot lately too, I remember reading a while back that it was released on exactly the same day as Draft 7.30 - there are some nice parallels and contrasts between the two. Minidisc is more of a musique concrete concept release, a bunch of 20-30 sec. tracks meant to be listened to on shuffle. The original release was on a sony minidisc - cd version is a re-release. Heard some of it once and wasn't too impressed, though maybe I'll give it another try. awepittance
Minidisc and Iss:a are my favorite Gescom releases A1-D1 was pretty good for being plunderphonics, but not so great imo for being a gescom release. I found it enjoyable though just not what i prefer out of gescom Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide awepittance's signature Hide all signatures Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/46732-gescom/#findComment-1071004 Share on other sites

I just hope one day you realise that A1-D1 is their best release, with Rob Hall's A2 and Booth's B1 being the highlights. awepittance
you guessed incorrectly I love minidisc and i listen to it a lot, sometimes not even on shuffle mode. I actually prefer to listen to to the way they arranged the tracks and i think it has some of the best ambient and sound collages they have ever done. A1-D1 <--- now that's something that i love the concept of but i can't get into the music, but i am willing to try it some more i haven't totally abandoned it.
