yeah there's a very queer distinct frenchness that comes out sometimes in french music, hard to put my finger on it. an example would be the robot narrations and the queer melodies on 10khz.

I don't think it is. I get a hint of defensiveness though, and that's fine. you're the guy who thinks it's racist that I have fred mcgriff as my avatar. that's some pretty astute cultural awareness.

If you like Phoenix's more electronic stuff you should get their album, Alphabetical.

I quite enjoyed Pocket Symphony. It was definitely lacking any of the stand out "pop hits" that Moon Safari or Talkie Walkie had, although it came across as more sophisticated and focused sounding than their previous efforts imo.

Agreed. I love Pocket Symphony... though I feel the same about all their albums to be honest.
