improvising counterpoint

do you improvise counterpoint while you're listening to music

i just found myself whistling it along with what's playing now

also i'm bad to hum or kinda sing silly little ditties in the car

i would be mortified if anyone ever caught me doing it though

This is probably a good sign that you should be making music instead of listening to it.

counter point, as an example to the topic of this thread is: stop whistling and do something more worthwhile

well, IRARI actually meant harmonize. counterpoint is something more specific, although you could do it along to random songs too.

Yes, I make up other melodies to go along with the melodies in the music that I listen to. That's how I write music anyway.
