On July 23, 2008, Kern was stopped by security guards in the Oklahoma State Capitol as she was attempting to enter the building with a loaded gun. The gun was a .380 caliber semiautomatic handgun. Kern had a permit to carry the gun and said she brought it into the building by accident. It was later confirmed that a second incident in which Kern entered the building with a gun occurred in June 2008. Kern was not charged for either incident.

You gotta love the nominees for BS districts that are always red or blue no matter who's the candidate. There are at least 7,230 people in Oklahoma's 84th that deserve a bullet to the head.
