View New Topic Link

I recently "marked the whole board as read", and now "View New Content" seems to be working as it should:

• Shows me only the topics that have been created/replied to since my last visit
  
• Clicking on the topic title will take me to the last unread topic (no need for an additional link/icon)
  
• Yes, it still doesn't say who created the topic - something to add to the skin, which I've been trying to figure out how to do
  

I think was due to the fact that ALL the old topics were suddenly 'new', and the board had no way of knowing (since cookies probably reset) what you last read/didn't read, etc.

do you need a carbon copy of my notes on this announcement?

Besides the feature requests, there was an assumption that the View New Content link didn't work like the View New Posts link did on the previous version of the board. I'm just stating that it indeed DOES work as expected, and that users who have been shying away from it can use it properly now, sans knowing who the topic starter was (for now).

hey this seems like the best thread to ask this in since i'm too lazy to find the one about the new forum, but have you already fixed the quote thing? i saw there were like rainbow colored quote boxes for a while but then they disappeared and now all i see is "QUOTE: such and such." is this just me or what?

edit: actually nevermind that quote box right up there looks fine. still though most other quotes seem to be like i just described. whats the deal yo

old quotes are broken. new quotes are rainbow coloured vomit and working.

Reading my whole username above each of my posts is a weird feeling, since I got used to "Enter a new d..."

i've bee nusing it that way since the change but its not the same. aart from being context sensitive, it seems to miss updates - like i'll go into a forum and see posts that sidnt show up in the new content view

Some older quotes didn't convert over properly for some reason.

Yeah, this morning I expected to hit it and it tell me there's 3-4 pages of new stuff, but instead it said there was no new content, which was a LIE and I instead used the "View Today's Active Content" link, which gave me the desired results. Weird.
