although true in america. id call a basketball jersey a vest and most ppl in england call football(soccer) jersey a football shirt or strip (if you have the shorts and socks).

but the website being a database for more american sports then english/europian i';d say your spot on.

Here, almost all sports shirts are called Jerseys, although admittedly it's a pretty interchangable term.

I thought the whole outfit was called a "kit"? I found this quite funny when I moved over here from the US since my previous definitions for kit were [a] cool talking car and small box of tools or first aid supplies.
