In this thread we take some random, vaguely BoC-sounding pieces of our music collection and try to pass them off as genuine unreleased material by Boards of Canada.

I never thought of the caves in Rayman to sound BOC-ish exactly. But it is really nice music :D

i have a bunch of boc fakes. even myself attempted to fake boc just to get half of a boc sticker, then i bought some 3m stickjy paper and wrote bawk on it and thought about faking another release called right side bed and make it sound really sexy just how left side drive sounds, but then i thought nah, too sexy

anyone knows what this is? with the whole new 35 random tracks fiasco - i realized my 35 random tracks has 36 tracks in it. I found this to be the culprit / offender

the track was right before Davie Addison on the Random 35 tracks (or what we used to think as "Old Tunes Vol.1" but the mix sounds better with it omitted and based on the time lengths of the song - it wasn't meant to be there - so I assume it was a fake that someone shoved in?

how do you edit posts now? Whatever... just to clear up. I found it. This is Side A Track 13 on the Random 35 Tracks thing. Not a fake.

well im not sure if old tunes 1 and a few oldies are the same. i have a wack of tracks from old tunes 1 that differ from a few old tunes. and that do not appear on old tunes 2.

leading me to believe there are more than just the two making the rounds.

i remember way back, talk of more than those three tapes circulating around. but never actually saw anything.

i can list the comparisons later. i dont have that stuff at werk. what i have may be bs...but they sure sound like they fit into the boc vibe.

wasnt it posted one time that a bunch of the old tunes stuff was a comp of stuff people within that circle had done?

I thought all of this was confirmed real years ago now? Why do people still dispute it? I seriously doubt anyone else could copy them like that, sounds too unique.

i thought so too, and agree with you.

but it seems like there are more recent boc fans, and im not saying true or false to anything. thats up to the boc.

but those tunes sure have that same kind of vibe about them, dont they.
