yeah security through obscurity is a great idea.

Someone from another board summed it up nicely: "Trying to stop exploit publication so that we won't need to buy security products is like trying to stop us from knowing about germs so we won't need to buy antibiotics."

That shit freaked me out.

full disclosures aren't simply to allow script kiddies to access your pc, or to allow virus makers to scare you.

these things do happen, but the main reason is so companies all around the world can learn about the problems, and then patch / disactivate / swap their products asap.

and when you're a bank, for example, this is very, very important.

without full disclosures, they wouldn't be able to do this as well or as quickly.

and the longer it goes unpatched, the more open you are to blackmail and attack by those who do know about it.
