It's not like it was specifically designed to eat dead people.

The article says it feeds on biomass, that can be loads of things.

People should take care of their dead anyway, all kinds of nasty diseases come from piles of rotting corpses, so it's more like the robot is doing the local population a favor by picking up their slack.

Thats awesome. I think there must have been a thread on this a few months ago(or somewhere else), because I definatly remember reading about EATR. I don't remember them mentioning the dead body thing though, just the biomass generality.

There was an article about a clock that eats flies, however it's inefficient and oil is used because it is a good power source. If they wanted a better power source they would use solar energy or something.

 

The clock was never self powered because the energy from 'consuming' dead flies was so little.

 

EDIT; it does use solar energy too, however automobile companies are going to spend more money on generating electricity from solar or other electric means than these guys so I think that tech will come from them, not the military (this time).
