When I was a kid I had fondness for one of my blankets similar to that I'd have for a pet... but we never did it or anything. It was purely platonic. Then one night I put it over a lamp to dim the light and accidentally burned two holes through it. Our relationship was never the same.

can't find the article i was reading, but someone saw this NYT piece and wrote a good reply that absolutely blasts the logic is supposedly works by.

the idea of 2D love, falling for representations of people that aren't real, could be used to describe pr0n watchers, and the industry in america is larger than any other country.

also, the idea of the love of a character pillow being regarded as literal is not really doing any human's ability to assess reality as much justice as it's possible to say it should be inherently given.
