nah, whenever ive introduced my mates to aphex twin, at first theyre like "hey its pretty cool" but after the main thing they say they dislike about it, is the lack of vocals. when i showed them Milkman they were just freaked out, perhaps i should of done Beetles

Hmm. I remember when I first heard Saw2 I loved it but I did have to train myself to deal with the lack of vocals. I was young. this was in 93. Some people have no problem with no vocals, but others have to acclimate to it. I don't even think about it now, but way way back I did have to work a bit to get used to it

lack of vocals made perfect sense to me at the time of my first SAW2 listen.

I'm increasingly getting problems with tracks that do have vocals. I have to force myself to try to understand what is being said or sung. Otherwise I'll just take the vocals for another instrument (if that works) or skip it.

If you listen to anything other than conventional pop music, you really shouldn't have trouble with lack of vocals.

Well Jan Hammer's Crockett's theme wasn't much of a sucess in the US but was a huge hit in Europe.
