Recommend me a USB interface for Mac

Recommended Posts

Looking at setting up a mobile studio, and looking for a recording interface for a MacBook. Been reading a lot about incompatibilities with Mbox so will probably steer clear of that. Besides, I need something that is compatible with the mac versions of Ableton and Traktor, with 2 sets of analog Ins and Outs. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

whats the budget? and is firewire an option? you get more choice if it is and firewire as an interface is a bit more suited to audio work. also do you want to record using mic's? if so you will need preamps on your inputs or you will need to buy external pre's.

yeah i did some reading today, and decided to go from a 13" Macbook to a Macbook Pro, it's only $350 more for the setup i want, with the added bonus of firewire. think i'm gonna go with either the Edirol FA-66 or the gorgeous FA-101. i probably wouldn't use all of the capacity of the FA-101, especially on the extended road trip i'm planning, but it's so sweet, 2 Toslink SPDIFs, 10 I/Os, shit it's a studio! i've also read Edirols have some of the best out of the box compatibility with OSX Leopard, so no headaches are a plus.
