Summer Suite was the nuts, loved it backwards and forwards, can't wait for this

Would've hated for you to miss out my man. I'm enjoying this quite a bit more than Summer Suite, assuming there are another two to come it'll be interesting to listen to them all finally back to back.

Slightly off topic, but as something of a n00b to all things Otis (my very very bad), have we seen the last of the Beat Konductas?

does he actually play all this, or is it half sampled, some live... a combo?

I think whichever way he does it is an impressive feat.

And no way, I don't think we've seen the last of the Beat Konducta, dude is too prolific not to release more (1&2 is still my favorite though). In the meantime have you checked out some of the Mind Fusion volumes? Pretty sure these are tour-only releases though they're easy to track down through other channels (2 and 4 are great btw).

I know madlib played everything on the first YNQ album - I remember reading in an article somewhere that he taught himself to play the vibes in 2 weeks or some other reedonkulously short time. Think he might've had 1 or 2 other musicians on Yesterdays Universe but that's about it. I have to imagine he's doing everything on these as well

You're welcome Bob, I reckon you'll have enjoyed it. Agreed on 1 & 2 as well, although parts of 5 (thinking Infinity Sound) kill me as well. I'm a bit late to the party with Madlib but I've been playing the crap out of the Beat Konductas since I arrived. I've been a bit wary of the Mind Fusions, although I think I'll have to follow your recommendation.
