Plastikman's customer servey

Recommended Posts

I stumbled across this very intresting thread, just browsing the net. aparently richie hawtins gonna re-release some old albums and do a few tours under the Plastikman moniker, which he will play a 'customer' friendly setsby making fans fill out a servey of what tracks ppl like of his, then there is shit about the marketing aspect of RH. quite intresting.

i like the plastikman albums 'quite' alot, but i have no intrest to see him play it out live or see re-releases of certain albums in 5.1 or with added remixes and all that, its just to make the odd buck. why dosnt he release more (good) new music which is like f.u.s.e or plastikman and not the shit he has been doing for the last few years of; like someone said on here; metronome with hall reverb on it . but maybe im just grumpy.

yeah....the high energy stuff i always liked were the DE9 series anyway...

plastikman for the most part would put me to sleep, the latest releases especially. not saying they are bad, but i wouldnt go pay to see them live.

a) he forgot how to make that kind of music;

b) he doesn't have new ideas;

c) he thinks that music won't sell;

d) he doesn't like making that music anymore;

e) he doesn't want to ride the nostalgia wave.

You choose.

I hope he'll come around here (as Plastikman), I've never seen him live.

I enjoy most of his music.

hes just in to looping a 3/1 loop of a drum n bass track down tempo'd by 60% for 56 minutes. but then he might go hard core and do a 1/8 loop thats when the fire works go off.

also apart from his plastikman moniker, back in 2000-2003 he had amazing tech-house livesets i really enjoyed. even though he had more or less standard repertoire of slammer records, the combinations and his mixing skills really made everything for me. as soon as after his last best mix performance (imho the liveset @ maida vale studios) everything went downhill, building up speed until finally crashed into a thick pine tree. RH is no more. for me.

i really like the old plastikman stuff, even closer is good. i'll definitely try to catch him live if he's somewhere near.

i don't remember hearing anything made by him that was bad. Some is less good and some is really freaking great and some is as classic as it gets.

People probably give him a hard time over a lot of the stuff released by his Minus label, which is pretty commercial if you ask me, and also can be really bland. But it's not all bad either.

I wish he'd take the money and spend it on cooler projects like the Consumed album.

I just want him to show up in NEw York and play his old Mixmag cd set on a big system.
