Guest maus
dunno if anyone here got into traject's "strengir hrynja' a few years back, but i was perusing myspace and found out he's got a new one out, called 'birting'. http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=191419 holy balls. to my tastes, this is the best thing i've heard all year hands-down, bar none (at least in the electronic world.) i can never appropriately gauge what watmm's tastes are at any given moment, but i'd be willing to be there are a few on here that would fucking love this as well. highpoints so far include '0718', and the absolutely STOMPING 'metropolis'. the first 2 minutes of that track make me want to buy (steal) an armored personnel carrier and crash into things. it's different to be sure, but i highly recommend checking it out. unfortunately, buying the album digitally is not a possibility (which blows my mind in this day and age - ESPECIALLY when the label admits the CD is hard to find in stores) but it's out there... c Edited August 11, 2009 by maus Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/48053-traject-birting/ Share on other sites

gl0tch
I needed this BADLY. Lately it's been dry for some really good, really intricate cold/icy IDM like this. Well overdue (in the absence of any new Autechre). Blir
Mmmm, delicious. I liked Strengir, think I'll pick this up. I've been getting some new stuff recently, be nice to add a few more albums to my collection. And cheers for the Einoma recommendation, sounds quality. gl0tch
Einoma is ace. Check out Onethema...some tracks floating around. I'm broke these days, but I could really use a copy of Robert Logan's Inscape. awepittance
hey Gl0tch nice to (kind of) see you! and i've never heard of this band before Maus so thanks for showing them. Glad to see someone into audio engineering like yourself can appreciate music like this. It's a shame that there aren't more artists trying to channel later period Autechre vibe. And i dont mean just outright copying it either i just mean using similar techniques and experimentation. So many fucking BOC, vsnares and Aphex/analord clones out there so this is a HUGE refresher anybody know where to buy this in the US or digital purchase, and if its available to get directly off his website. Guest maus
glad you're all enjoying birting... it's not as consistently great as i'd initially hoped, but there are most definitely some standout moments. as far as procuring it, there is no US distribution, and the label claims that even european shops are having a hard time keeping it in stock... all the more ridiculous, therefore, that the label hasn't pursued any electronic distribution. it's pretty mindblowing. if there's anyone to benefit from itunes or bleep distribution, it's smaller artists like this. and you'd think that a smaller label would want to take advantage of the increased distribution reach of the internet. keeping minds closed. c Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/48053-traject-birting/#findComment-1109324 Share on other sites
