pretty bad movie posting a Burial track in the aphex forum man, that's just in poor taste

spoon fed electronic music at it's finest, but needs more wood block

Well .. well... well, I don't even know what to say about this ! I disaggree with those who say it's boring, anyway for them music has to sound "innovative" to be listenable (hey by the way, what did Myam James 2 bring new ?) so.. you're going the wrong way prolls, and I disaggree with those who say genius, because .. it isn't, perhaps. "So what, don't give a fuck, me know" [+1 for who finds from where it comes]

"Aphex related sound"...lmao

Their logos look more familiar to me than there music. (Burials "x" looks like a broken Aphex A?)

Burial sounds kinda nice, didnt have a chance to listen to his stuff, but gonna check it out.

again why is this posted in the aphex twin forum? what are we going to see next, The Field and Justice songs posted here too?

Burial sounds very good and I think it's one of the artists who captures "dark" the best, but it seems like he's using the same rythms/sounds over and over. This song sounds like rest of Burial's songs but it has one new sound... can't see how this is Aphex related.

Therefore this song is mediocre.

Nah, Burial definitely has got some skill, people shouldn't dismiss him just like that. If you listen to Forgive or Untrue, there's an obvious atmosphere in those tracks, hard to miss.

sup barnstar of coolness

Well this has been around for months now.

He is not bad and all, but Burial is ridiculously overrated.

Sounds like EL-B, plus with r&b and rain samples with lots of reverb all over it.

Even some characteristic sounds in the percussions that I though to be genuine of him aren't. And I don't rate with the "innovative equals good", it just gets really boring, even more at this point.

Also, he samples practically everything from already profesionally mastered tracks, so no massive work was needed to get that sound, considering the source material.

Its a bit similar to what happens with Radiohead. The media should focus its attention to really entertaining artists such as Aphex Twin or Squarepusher to mention some, if they want to make something good mainstream.

i agree with everything pissy just said. I had to say that, despite me bumping a thread that should have been left fo dead. Burial is mediocre, but listenable. Good, non-offensive background music when a girl is over and you are doing stuff.

Yes, his manipulation and arranging skills are novel, but the point is he still didn't generate the original sound and melody from scratch.

Look, I like Burial, but he is very overrated musically (and I'm not just talking about the bullet shell percussion loops). His allure is his persona, anonymity, and the fact that he has a very primal and simple but oddly effective means of making his music emotional. His tracks resonate with a lot people and he has sincere fans outside the dubstep scene. Personally speaking, I love listening to his tracks when I'm in certain moods, even though I can barely get through an album of his at any given time. I respect him for these reasons despite his hype. He's still a fresh of breath air compared to someone like, I dunno, M.I.A., who is hardly innovative musically, but made it as a bullshit listing on Time and Rolling Stone "influencial people" lists b/c she name dropped the PLO and uses pastel colors in her image. Burial is just a guy who makes strangely simple music for kicks and revealed his real name because it was rumored he was Fatboy Slim or RDJ.

And seriously, the unreleased tracks sound nothing like Aphex or anything different than his current formula.

Im the most rabid aphex fan out there, but even I know most people couldn't stomach aphex's music in the mainstream,. Its too much of an acquired taste.
