pimp my synth

the concept is simple, shoop a dream synth

i'm pretty sure those are 3 vstis photoshopped together, like, i'm pretty sure you can run them all at the same time in one file i don't get this thread at all

nope, you pretty much have it there

That was easy. From there I'd toss in a nice DAW sequencer w/ some fast Absynth type envelopes and an analog recreation of the Reaktor Space Drone. Perhaps some flashy looking pipes that blew out smoke at periodic intervals for a nice touch. There. All set.

the OP "synth":

sounds like a real synth but not as good...

you cant actually touch any of the knobs or patch cords...

you have to move the mouse in a silly imitation of knob turning intead of doing something accurate...

you have to cover miles and miles of mouse distance to get around the thing...

there's a little delay between pressing a key and hearing a sound...

you get to fuck your eyes up staring at a monitor...

you have to wait 2-3 minutes for your pc to boot every time you want to use it...

if your PC is having a bad day, your synth wont work. sorry...

how responsive your synth is depends on how many other bits of "gear" you are using...

sounds more like a nightmare synth to me.

i want a synth that can read minds and kill mortals

no but imagine if you could connect them all together modular/reason/reaktor style. i was fantasising about this with a mate the other day - if people were to program some kind of universal software architecture that manufacturers could incorporate into their audio plugins. it'd be sick.

also, here's mine!

'nuff VCOs and envelopes, then both cs80/moog filters for analog lushnous, slick albino filters for modern stuff and finally a vocal formant filter (weeeowwwww). bit lacking in wavetable diversity though.

notice i kept in step sequencer just in case you fancy proper acid programming. there's also the albino layers system, but given everything going on this would probably be pointless unless had a ridiculously powerful computer...
