[NZ] Pixies

Pixies are playing the Vector Arena Auckland on March 12th.

The gimmick is they are playing all of Doolittle plus all its bsides to celebrate the 20th anniversary (they fail at maths clearly).

16 years too late for me, but I'll probably go anyway.

It's fucking Bossanova's 20th anniversary next year not Doolittles' - PLAY THAT ONE INSTEAD ITS YOUR REAL BEST ALBUM. FUCK THIS BORING DOOLITTLE ORTHODOXY

i wouldn;t bother. they are fat and old. they were on telly a month or 2 ago and kim deal was laughing all the way through the song . presumably at how crap and unenthusiastic they were. oh and surfer rosa is their best album

i saw them a year or so back and found it to be quite the show... favorite album is come on pilgrim

oh well at least half the band isn't fucking dead. i haven't quite sunk to the level of the Who fans I took the piss out of...

I've seen them a few times over the past few years, and they took the piss much less than when I saw them in Manchester around May '89, when they were a little slack to say the least.

Fuck, yes. And fuck Bossanova, 5 tracks out of 14 (albeit amazing ones, i.e. Ana) worth paying serious attention to does not make a great album. Trompe Le Monde wanks all over it, as do the b-sides from the Doolittle singles. What Bossanova track stands up to Into The White? I'm old, I know this shit.

The Thing (the shorter one) is on the Velouria EP, which pisses all over The Happening on Bossanova. The drums sound well ace on The Thing.

Yes, Trompe Le Monde is also better than Doolittle

Mmm Pixies. My absolute favorite band as a teenager. They're still the only rock band that I really enjoy, though I only listen to them when working out now.
