Some of you have mentioned that newly posted topics don't immediately show the replies or views, even though it's obvious that they have - this is due to this board having a setting to control how often this is updated, in this case, the default is 3 hours. This is to prevent frequent table locks (when information is written to the database, a record is 'locked' to prevent two people from writing the data to the same record at the same time) and speed up forum performance.

Just thought you'd like to know why.

You should probably lock and sticky this thread otherwise it will get buried quickly.
