Sparklehorse & Fennesz - In the Fishtank

So I haven't finished listening to this album yet. If I remember correctly I think this forum has a decent number of Fennesz listeners? This album so far is pretty good fun times.

who wins? fennesz or sparklehorse? are there vocals? i'm more of a fennesz man.

Very few vocals, much closer to the vein of Fennesz, with slightly more poppy melodies now and then. I found it pretty good.

looking forward to hearing this, i like it when he collabs

after a few quick spins, it sounds good to me. I dont know Sparklehorse but they dont seem to be getting in Fennesz's way. good stuff if you like fennesz

It's a Wonderful Life or Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain were both great starting points for me. I love Sparklehorse, but it's not for everyone. He writes really sad, mellow, acoustic driven songs and likes to get creative with his production... lots of noisy textures, will put his instruments through old radio speakers to give it unusual tones, that sort of thing. He describes it as pop tunes meets Tom Waits, which is pretty much it. It makes a lot of sense to me that him and Fennesz are collaborating.

it makes perfect sense when you consider linkous' nickname is 'static king' and the name of his studio is static king studios
