DJ Mink, Rob Gordon and Warp Records

I'm assuming someone here has an extensive knowledge of Warp and it's artists, so I'm hoping one of you might be able to answer some questions about DJ Mink. Specifically, can anyone tell me exactly who Mink and 2wice The Trouble are/were? Also, how deep was Rob Gordon's involvment in the production of Hey! Hey! Can U Relate? I'm also wondering if someone can specify the differences between the FON, Ozone and Warp pressings and mixes. Any aid would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance!

You seem to be into some interesting stuff (but I don't have any answers for you though, sorry), I'd like to hear more of Rob Gordon's music, in particular his Source Records release, have you heard that one and if so is it good?

Sorry, I haven't heard the Source release. I'll have to look into it. I'm going to try to contact Rob Gordon directly and see if he'd be nice enough to answer some questions.

I like his Source releases, capita by black knight is one of my favorites.

Not sure if all that info is 100% correct but I did some digging around and that's what I came up with.

If you read in the comments section, a guy called Razorcuts with far superior knowledge adds this -

"I still have my FON copy of this record... given to me by The KID himself back in 88... I was 17 at the time and was part of the Nottm scene and had worked with other members of the Rock City Crew like Pepse and Trix. DJ Mink was actually from Sheffield and was the younger brother of DJ Mongoose. KID Carruthers, or Lloyd to those that knew him was one of the Rock City crew turned MC and this was the best British hip-hop record I'd ever heard and I think it still is - I still play it out all the time, it rocks, but Hip Hop, especially stuff this hardcore was at the time very minority and most DJs wouldn't even give the record a listen because it was English, it was tragic. About a year later I heard Lloyd (KID) was into heroin and burglary, which is real sad. Mink got into being a house/rave DJ and did well in the North for some time. I don't know if either of them know the importance of this record at all." DJ Razorcuts
