That would be pretty ironic if you designed a "word... indeed!" t-shirt. I would buy one for sure.

i'll do that next!

how does cafe press work? i've bought from there before but never thought about how things get made. do you submit design and they print it?

i really don't know. i don't know if they create it when ordered or make a bunch and hold them until peeps order them. i'm going to order one in a few days!

but you submit the design and at some point they print them up? do you specify the tshirt? do you profit at all? i should probably read their website

this is my first time trying it. i submitted the design then chose what t-shirt to get them printed on. i chose the american apparel one because i like the way it fits. i also chose a less expensive one, but those don't come in black. and of course i chose a couple for the ladies. i happen to love spaghetti tank tops on ladies so i chose that one!

the shirts are a base price and you add mark up for your profit (i added $5 to $8 since i'm just starting)!

you can have them printed on other stuff as well. stickers, hats, bottles, all kinds of shit!

CafePress is "on demand" printing - they use laser presses rather than silk screen or offset printing to create the items cheaply. One unfortunate side effect is shirts there tend not to last long (the printing on them) through repeated washings. I've gotten some posters from there and the quality is decent - it's a good way to do one-off items cheaply without having to spend a lot of up-front money or buy multiple quantities.

They even do CD and book publishing as well, although the rules for those are somewhat different.

i have a california republic flag tshirt from cafepress and its been through the wash many times. i also bought a tank for my wife from there and that washed off pretty quickly so...

how did the california shirt hold up... and your wife's tank top, did it fade or wash away completely?

actually i got 2 california tees. one was horrible material and kinda earthy coloured. i never wear that. the other is white and on american apparel and is awesome. i've washed it 50times and its fine still no fading no peeling

the wifes tank was ribbed i think and the text started peeling pretty badly.

seems like potluck on cafepress. but with american apparel you should be fine

yeah... i used american apparel for the mens. i personally like the way AA fits me... i also chose a thicker one incase people are more into that!
