So Koushik is giving away more free music.I thought Out My Window sounded great with all those hazy vocals but Koushik decided to remove all the vocals and is giving it away for free.

Here is some info from Stones Throw Records

Koushik proposed that we release an instrumental version of his Out My Window album, where the vocals - what few tracks actually have vocals - are buried deep in the mix, less like a singer than a friendly ghost in the attic. Such a bizarre idea, how could we say no?

It's on CD with 22 tracks, 5 or 6 of which are not on Out My Window, but who's counting? Packaged in thick cardboard with tip-on cover in the style of old school LPs. Cover photo by Eric Coleman.

Jesus, dude is bursting with material all of a sudden (a lot of which is free too), it's almost madlibian

I also love that it's pretty much the same 5 or so watmmers in ever Koushik thread :cisfor: fair play to us

Grabbed his last couple of albums (I'm a Koushik noob but enjoying them a lot) so I'm straight on this one. Thanks for the heads-up.

This is sweet, not what I thought it'd be. Completely different track order than the original album, and most of the instrumentals are mixed down differently too, some to the point where you could almost call them remixes (the version of 'bright and shining' is pretty great). The new tracks scattered about are good too.

It's also interesting that this is the exact same concept as Two Fingers (amon tobin & that other guy) did for their instrumental release as well

Grabbed this the other day. So glad he released this because the vocals were probably my least favorite aspect of the album.

I'd suggest any Koushik fans track down Stones Throw's 35th podcast (Mixoremixes), which are a set of songs remixed by Koushik. Great stuff.

I think I have it archived on a dvd somewhere. I'll pm you when I find it.

Haven't heard much of Koushik but have heard good things for a loooong time, just never got around to it, I guess. Picking this up, then I'll listen to the original.

Damn, I missed it too. Anyway, I guess we're supposed to buy it now.

However, I have discovered that the original filename was koushik-instrumentals-stonesthrow.zip

Just in case you were wondering what the original filename was, for some reason.

Well played
