Cities in America with the best dnb, idm, techno scenes...

Recommended Posts

apparently rochester, ny (where i go to school) used to have a bangin dnb scene. i still hear about shows from time to time (and have had a few opportunities to see some big names) but it's certainly a dying city... i imagine the major eastern cities (nyc, philly, d.c.) all have pretty decent scenes (i live in d.c. and what i've seen is more focused on the experimental edge but they get a little of everything).

yeah I'd say Bay Area, LA, NY are your best chances. Really though UK is best for straight up cheese ball DnB/IDM etc.

America wants more dancey synthpop type stuff etc. I dunno from my observations so far any how.

lol mass art kids.

Boston in general has a huge noise scene, but I wouldn't call that an "IDM/DNB scene" some tiems there are some breakcorish people.

I just went to a show were hrvatski played as hrvatski for the first time in many years but that's almost it.

NY i guess

THATS HOW U NO U GOD WHEN YOU GOTA MODEL AND SHE THROW UP ON YO DICK BECAUSE ITS SO BIG AND YOUR IN A LIMO GOING TO A LIL B CONCERT - Lil B

Columbus has a larger noise scene than Boston. It doesn't really have much at all, which is strange considering how many conservatories and art schools are in the area.

No one is there long enough to keep a scene going. People go to school there for four years and then peace.

edit: Actually, Boston has a good hardcore punk scene. That's mostly out in Allston and in the 'burbs, though.

Definitely not around my parts (Baton Rouge, LA). I'm sure they have some shit in New Orleans but I wouldn't be too optimistic about it. The people around my neck of the woods aren't particularly interested in music without guitars and other bullshit so...

I have no doubt that there's probably some kicking shit in Austin, TX if you manage to break away from the super-indie crowds that run that town...

Maybe I should more-so say Massachusetts, has a very big noise scene. If you include the other nearby states (New England) since they're all so small, it's one of the biggest.

that's not true, not here at least
