This shit rawks.

I loved their last couple. Saw them live earlier this month and the highlight of their set for me was a new song I'd never heard. It sounded like the vocalist was literally screaming "FUCK FUCK FUCK" for every single line, same pitch and everything. I heard several people comment on this afterward, and it did add a comedic element to their set. The drummer was fucking insane.

Dammit I need to get payed so I can get this release. I saw Ben Koller drum for Cave In in 2007 and he was incredible, although he seemed a little contained during some of their midtempo songs.

I've only listened once so far, but I think it's quite possibly their best yet. Super intense. I've always been a fan of how they make the most of their room sound, so that even when it's just one guitar it sounds super dense. There are times when I'm not quite sure if I'm hearing a really tight guitar double or just one really fat sounding single guitar... Kurt Ballou is the man! And I think Converge is without a doubt one of the most important metal bands of the last decade.

Upon second listening, this album is a fucking masterpiece. I didn't think another album would be rivaling Mastodon for best metal of 2009, but I'm equally impressed with this one. The drum and guitar work is total bliss for me. Totally seamless, perfect album.
