why is this newsworthy?

IABPOITC is easily obtainable on vinyl for peanuts - pretty much any day of the week on ebay. Well not quite every day but don't need to look long.

They're all blue by the way - not sure why you mentioned it specifically in the title as though there was another option.

a) it's not "news" - i posted here cause i thought folks might be interested. this forum isn't just for news.

b) mentioned the color 'cause it's gorgeous and a potential selling point. if it's not a selling point to you, fine.

Is this the first or second pressing? (difference in vinyl colour; if I recall, the second pressing is less sky blue and darker if I remember correctly)

i would guess the first pressing, the sky blue is very pale, almost a baby blue. also i bought it pretty much when it came out (i think) - is there any more definitive way to tell the difference?

I'm in the market for this 12". There's this one at Ebay, but it has black marks on it. Is this normal? I don't think it is, but I asked the seller, and he said that the black is part of the colored vinyl. What does everyone think?

mine has no black marks on it. check out my sale link above and i'll happily sell it to you.

That is one of the original pressings and the marbling effect with the black is normal for coloured vinyl (even though most of the IABPOITC vinyls don't have it).

The black test pressing of this record is not only the rarest edition, but it also apparently sounds the best on account of not being coloured.

Yeah, that's an unfortunate side effect of most coloured vinyl - the audio quality is inferior to normal vinyl.

it's not a re-issue, it's just Warp getting rid of old stock.
