stream 25 uk freeview channels through VLC

errr i mean 44

this nifty app lets you watch 44 UK channels including FIVER, FIVE USA, eurosports 1 & 2, film 4, etc.

you must have the latest VLC media player installed to use this.

as a side-note it's written in perl and all it does is launch an instance of VLC with commandline params determined by your selection)

it's very cool - apparently written by a 15-year old!

Just unzip it , double click on British Tv. A command window

opens with 44 channels listed. Type the channel number hit

ENTER on your keyboard. Your channels will play in VLC

(FULL SCREEN if you want) This British Tv app is brilliant

the programmer who put it together says he may add more

sports channels to the listing when it becomes available...

some of the streams are patchy but fuck, it's free.

real edit: just downloaded the updated version... most of the streams seem to be working again. skeptical as to how long it will last though.

anyone can use it if they have VLC >= 1.0

shame really, because i want ESPN, last year it was free, this year i have to pay for it, which i cant and my dad opted out to go halfs with me for it. . so im stuck watching hockey on a crappy internet stream. :(

good app though, though id just get it for channel 4 and bbc2 (plus there other channels +1 BBC4 act;)

imma have a crack at deciphering the perl... if i can get the urls in a plain format i can write a small bit of xml and stream em to my wireless media box thing == freeview fuckin box!
