six
Is there a good quality recording of Aphex's audio for Cunningham's Flex video? I've seen the snippet from the Cunningham DVD but I think the full piece was around 15 minutes. It would be cool to hear more of Richard's experimental ambient work. The first part is an extract of an excellent track titled "Perc 6" that, as far as I know, appeared in some cd magazine. six
leafs said: isn't the rest of it (on the DVD snippet anyway) just a track from SAWII? the fourth one on the second disc? i think the unofficial name they use is "grey stripe"? It sounds a bit similar, but no I don't think so. Perc #6 is definitely in there though. Tracked it down and it is amazing. Sounds like a Gescom track Edited March 1, 2006 by six Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide six's signature Hide all signatures Smash TV Youtube Sparkle Motion mixes on Mixcloud Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/4980-flex-audio/#findComment-102358 Share on other sites
Guest AlexPallas
there's a 2 saw2 tracks that arent on the current commercial release. one of them 'Hankie' is from the old warp pressing (24 tracks total, clocks in at 4:39) another is from the original vinyl pressing, later released as '#19' on 'Excursions in ambience - the third dimension' compilation. and of course there's always Aphex Airlines. Even though it's part of a different release and whatnot, I find that the "On (28 mix)" fits in very well with the aforementioned pieces. Parsifal
In the Chris Cunningham DVD booklet, Chris says that Richard didn't finish enough music in time for Flex, so that he had to use some of his own stuff to fill the whole thing. And the thing on the DVD is an excerpt from the whole thing, as it was the only part that came out exactly as he wanted it. No its because in the 6mins that was on the Directors video it had no nudity in it, having the naked models would have pushed the rating up of the dvd and would effect sales. interesring how Richard had match the music to the video though, you can find the whole thing on youtube (pretty low quilty tho) taped from an expo in london when it was out.
