I'm interested in discussion of this...do people find the 11 insufferable minutes worth it?

I'll add a spoiler warning to the OP.

I thought it was like 5 minutes too long, personally.

I understood within 2 minutes that it was a commentary on Kanye's public idiocy.

what's there to spoil? it's like nine minutes of out of focus artsy camera work followed by kanye cutting himself open to moonlight sonata (lol) and pulling out the little ego demon inside. completely retarded.

edit: i got to the end, it's just so basic that i was hoping maybe i missed something. like i said, it could have been two minutes long.

I hated the camera work, honestly. It was way too self-conscious with all the soft focus, etc.

Stupid celebrity continues to be rich and famous despite doing increasingly stupid things.

I don't get it. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him because he gets overwhelmed by things going on around him? This just seems like another thinly veiled attempt at some sympathy. He's an idiot. He's not half as "genius" or creative as he thinks he is. If you are overwhelmed, Kanye, then stop.

I'll retract my statement that Spike Jonze never disappoints.

I believe, being filmed behaving like the fool that you are for eleven minutes is not considered acting.

i find it funny that two of the most popular rappers currently, kanye and eminem, could quite possibly be gay, and that that could be the reason behind their various public issues.

ii can't quite put my finger on it, but some of my gay friends refer to what is called 'gay face' where they believe that genetically your face /cheekbone structure appears a certain way if one is gay, and i have to say Kanye does have a lot of the gayface going on. but i cant speak for lumpenprol, he probably has a good reason

I do think the gayface thing is interesting, however I don't think either of them fully have it, for me gayface is more about the eyes, seems to me many gays (though certainly not all, Neil Patrick Harris for example is to me indistinguishable from a straight guy) seem to have a very slight crosseyed thing going on. I kind of figured most of kanyes whole reason for getting up on stage was to passive-aggressively mack on beyonce which initiall seems pretty hetero imho, but maybe it was one of those things where he was so drunk and mad about himself being a gay that he had to prove it to mtv that hes hella into the titties.

And the gay face is interesting. I can kind of see what your friend is talking about, but it seems weird that physical properties could manifest from a mental disposition, especially one that is almost entirely non-reproductive. It's not like gay guys can have gay babies which is why they passed on the genetic gayface. Lisps are kind of the same way but i think most gay dudes speak in a lisp out of habit or choice than because they have a speech "impediment" because they like to bum dudes in the butt.

i suppose, but isn't it fun to speculate? I don't get full-on gay from either rapper but I think it's quite possible they are. I don't think that about all whacked out rappers; for example P-Diddy has always struck me as an odd guy but I just concluded he's a nerd who is overcompensating. So why don't I feel the same about Kanye? There seems to be something else there.

Oh also, when I see something like this my subconscious screams "dude is gay", even though the photographer and most of the readership probably thought he looked hard. Call me crazy.

funny discussion, but yeah a lot of people i tell this theory to seem to think i'm insane. but i didn't pull it out of my ass, several of my gay friends love to attribute 'gay face' to supposedly straigth celebs
