Enya certainly gets more hate than she's entitled to. I think it likely stems from her music being (incorrectly) synonymous with Day Spas and Massage Parlours.

Although I love me some Enya if I had to talk oppositionally of one thing about her aesthetic that bothered me it would be the tawdry synth pizzicato and orchestral samples; it's intrinsic to her sound in a way unfortunately. An Eno produced Enya album back in the 1980s would've been a real treat!

I think the one thing you could say about them is that if you dropped a TB303 in both of their laps, Enya would no doubt make some better acid.
