i cannot stand this guy.

we need more good old fashioned eccentrics in the world. i warmed to him even more when i hear he drinks 2 bottles of wine while swimming all day, every day. what a guy!

the nice thing about youtube being blocked in china is I can read kokoon's post as an existential cry into the abyss

i can admire his achievements for the sole effort and devotion he inputs, as for everything else (the drinking, eccentric personality, etc) i think it comes with the package. being a maniac as he is, requires an unchained heart and maybe slightly naive mind. i think it's more important what he demonstrates to more and more hive-minded and blind pop-culture influenced population who criticize him (which generally reflects their frustration and slight begrudge over what he lives for). imho he is still better than if he'd be some hyped-up man-machine like those pretentious professional athletes...just feels more human or what (?)

i really don't see it that way. i don't think he lives to fight for the clean waters or whatever it is that he's saying this week. now that he's kinda famous, he seems to think people really respect him... he appears so confused, yet he still thinks people are interested in what he has to say. and when i say confused, i really mean retarded.

i meant he lives for swimming, but sure, he _is_ a swimmer after all so clean waters are his domain (more or less lol). just like you may be pro-opensource or whatever. and i believe that people are interested in what he says, just like some are interested in what dr. phil thinks (if i may compare it that way)... he is a simple man who likes to swim so much he had to make a business out of it.

but shit i don't even know him personally, neither i don't follow his endeavors with any enthusiasm. it just bothers me when such people become a mocking target when there are so many other wicked people out there who really need our critical attention.

If he lived for swimming he would do it without letting all the world know.

did you read the interview? he IS a simple man, no doubt about that. he's so simple i don't think he should posses any power (among the people), because he could do damage. i don't trust him, i don't believe him.
