here i have buggy ride playing in the right deck with "unhappy faces" (beak track i had to name when ripping out of your pretty live set" ... what is it actually called btw?) is cued up in the left deck on the 1st beat, set to an 8 beat loop.

note the pitch controls that you would find on an average deck (and extra doodahs like cue point setting, loop setting, beatsync button etc)

mixer beneath with cross fader and deck eqs etc

a little headphone monitor

track browser (i prefer to drag and drop from a folder... it's easier)

at the top individual filters and the master panel for setting master volume / recording mixes etc

this is traktor 2.5

traktor 3 looks totally different and has 4 decks and extra FX which make it sound like your using traktor

i just went back and performed this mix. had to pitch buggy ride up by 12% . 16 beat intro loop from "unhappy faces" blended in with a filter sweep as buggy ride drew to a close. sounded pretty neato

i would recommend ableton live where you can deconstruct your tracks into bits. drag them all into ableton. it magically fits them all to a master tempo and drops them in and out on the beat when you press the buttons. but i hate it so i won't.

I agree.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

don't bother

this is clearly a misquote. thanks for the info and advice ludd. thanks everyone else too for pointing me in the right directions.

so am i supposed to interpret this misquote as you not liking my music, you not liking doing live music, or just general butthurtedness negativity.

Tim Exile's "The Finger" is great. It really is. I checked it out, gigged with it, my friends gigged with it, it allows for some real nice immediacy and dynamism to live FSU. I know some of the people here think "it sounds shit" or something, but for me at least it trumps my former (and much more complex) live setup both sound-wise and control-wise.

Also it helps to be fucking insane.

I would try just jamming out and having fun with what you have, think about what would be cool to do, get the gear and try it out. Just jam out and have fun, make a flow to it, and bam. You're ready to gig. Next step is to do it in front of people. Key thing is have fun.
