Guest Erothyme
That's some fun DSP and all, but the mix sounds really thin. I do like the structural ideas, I do like the melodic ideas, but the bass drums and snares are inappropriately weak, and, up until the acidic synth comes in, the song tragically lacks bass. Awesome sequencing tricks, though. And cool DSP, again. I don't want to be a downer, I just want to see you address the issues I pointed out in whatever I next hear from you, because I see a lot of potential here. Guest TraiT
That's actually great to hear as I've yet to get any feedback on any of the tracks like this I've written. I tend to not be so great at mixing and my skills really lay in composing I feel. I'll work on this and post it again. Guest Erothyme
Your mixing will improve with experience and insight, I'm sure. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/50286-trait-fast-bpm-supah-glitch/#findComment-1155764 Share on other sites
Guest TraiT
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm generally brutally honest when I'm critiquing someone else's work because I like the same back. Here's the remixed version. The beginning is really an intro which is why it isn't so "full". Listening to it now, I guess I can still see how it sounds kind of dry or flat, mix wise. Like things aren't really sitting in their own frequency positions or it's not making use of the stereo field (which shouldn't be the case because I have a lot of stereo separation going on to various degrees on each part). Could give it another go. See what other people think. Guest mrx
I listened and found this track to be pretty boring. The beats were my least favorite part of this track, but the composition was okay.
