D&B owns a part of my musical mind. But i haven't listened to anything (anywhere of any genre) in an age. Last thing i blasted was Total Science, an age ago.

Yeah, there's still good stuff coming out. I'll still pick up a few D&B records every month, but nowhere near as much as I used to. This month I bought a new Donny 12", a Break double pack and an old Noisia tune.

Scientific Wax is indeed a great label!

Scientic wax are an amazing label - equinox is brilliant. Also check out inperspective and subtle audio.

Here's a sneak at the kind of stuff that should be coming out on rephlex whenever they get their arse in gear...

delet i didn't know you were big into drum and bass, man. Lately my thing is buying old d&b CDs that I find around for you know, one dollar and stuff. It's so unfashionable to like that mid- to late-90s stuff now (at least, it seems like it is) that I'm gradually collecting all the classic stuff .. Goldie, Roni Size, things like that. I've even grabbed several decent older CDs out of used bins lately, like a few old Andy C Sub Base mixes and stuff.

Man, it's almost all good in those early years too. But even later stuff, as long as it doesn't get super coffee-table-y, is quite nice to listen to. Plus there were so many random mixes and comps back in the day and it seems like they all got a Dillinja, John B, or Grooverider track or two, etc. It's kinda fun to dig through all that.

Only dnb I listen to is Plug, Source Direct, and Photek

You should check out labels like outsider, esoteric, subtle audio, scientific wax and inperspective - not the same, but in a similar vein to the things you've mentioned. It's a shame that there aren't more dnb labels like these, instead of most of the ones around today that churn out some of the most diabolical shite known to man.

Could do with some worthwhile albums really, only decent albums this year I've heard have been Mistabishi (which got old really quick) and Break's which I forget about all the time.

Quality stuff is very sporadic and I don't listen to 12"s

The concept of only wanting to check out drum and bass albums is pretty silly considering it's a scene predominately based around the 12"... if you're limiting yourself that strictly, you're gonna miss out on a massive amount of good tunes. The Break album was pretty much the definition of MEH.. but he brings out the odd totally killer track on a 12" every now and then.
