Not that I don't like some of the above, but how cool would a book about IDM and it's roots, history, and it's future be?

A book about IDM from a member here would be 200 pages of elitist twaddling about the artist they prefer and why everything else sucks.

It's too early. You have to wait a certain time to judge a movment with objectivity. There are books on techno, from Pierre Schaeffer to Kraftwerk to Underground Resistance, because it embrance a longer time and it's older.

I already have the MOOG documentary... I live in Asheville, where he lived for the last two decades. I would like a more detailed history of the UK side of things....

there was some book about Warp out a few years back, that's basically a history of IDM. fairly cool book. published by Black Dog sumin'or'utha
