have not played around with the modular plugin yet. i did get the dinosaur crossgrade, so $150 it cost me. I got a korg nanokontrol coming in the mail which should make it even better.

in 2.5 there is Zebrafy, which is basically an audio-in so you can use all the zebra stuff to mess with audio.

i cant seem to get the randomizer patch to work, but that looks pretty amazing too as you can tell it how much randomization you want.

granted, for FM, sytrus has got zebra beat...but zebra's not really trying to be an FM synthesizer. if you want to talk FM in a toss up between sytrus and NI FM8, IMO FM8 wins. all in all though as a general go to synth zebra is much more capable than sytrus.

sytrus has a laid out signal flow when it comes to modulation, but zebra is completely modular, and if you ask me, modular wins every time when it comes to versatility.

discuss.

i am just finding Zebra super easy to use. I used to have a Nord Modular, which, most people would think is far better, was kind of a pain in the ass with its buggy software and double set of midi cables. Zebra works perfectly in Ableton and if I want to geek out on some super patching I can, and if I just want to tweak a preset I can easily do that too. Can't compare to other synths, but digging it so far.

zebra is great. i've been using it a lot , simply because it has the ability to use the scala file format.

through the years, a man peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, tools, stars, horses and people. shortly before his death, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the image of his own face.

i use it a fair bit in ableton.

sup

my issue is that when i turn on midilearn in zebra and then move a knob/fader on my nanocontrol, nothing happens. however, if i have the visual of zebra turned off and i open zebra in the bottom bar of ableton so that i can see all zebra's options as little faders, then i can automate a knob through ableton, but that way takes more work and also not all of the automation options of zebra are listed, which means i have to assign functions to the x/y axis. (which is fine, but i wish i could do things more simply) I want to just click midilearn and automate anything in the patch. can you help??
